Description
A bugle is one of the simplest brass instruments, featuring no valves, keys, or slides. Because it lacks mechanism to change pitch mechanically, the player produces different notes solely by varying their embouchure (lip tension) and breath control to play harmonic series notes. Traditionally used in military settings for signaling, calls like “Taps” and “Rereveille” are famously played on the bugle.
